Nguyen’s Vietnamese, Kiara 163 Mont Kiara

It’s hard to find a good Vietnamese restaurant around Mont Kiara and Desa Sri Hartamas, so we were happily surprised when we saw Nguyen’s had opened at the popular Kiara 163 retail park, next to Plaza Mont Kiara.

Nguyen, the latest restaurant to open in Kiara 163

The menu has a variety of things, from summer and spring rolls, sliced beef pho, bun cha and banh mi if you prefer bread.

Nguyen’s menu has Vietnamese staples like beef pho, bun cha and banh mi.

We always order pho as this is usually a good way to test the quality of a Vietnamese restaurant, and Nguyen’s sliced beef pho passed the test. All beef comes from Australia, and portion size was generous, and the soup bursting with flavour (unlike Nam, which let us down).

The lemongrass pork was more of a curry, rather than the dry version we’re used to, but still tasty. The Vietnamese tea serves four, and is refillable – totally worth it.

We also tried the summer roll, which was stuffed with prawn and made fresh, at a little cart inside the restaurant.

The decor is really feminine and pretty, with green and pink being the main colours, and a tropical feel. It is a little bare at the moment, but we were told Nguyen’s had their soft opening yesterday, and will be adding potted plants on the tables and more ornaments.

Nguyen’s photogenic interior

Overall, a nice new addition to the neighbourhood, and a quality Vietnamese restaurant at affordable prices.
