Review of The Royals Steakhouse, Singapore

Over the national day weekend in Singapore we decided to wander through Bugis and the vibrant Haji Lane area in search of food.

Our first pick  (recommended online) was packed and had run out of all lunch options, most of breakfast and was pretty much only serving dessert so we walked on.

Another restaurant we wanted to try was closed but we spotted the Royal Steakhouse.

The aircon felt like heaven after being stuck in the sun (and the humidity). With a simple black and white colour scheme against a wood background, the inside of the restaurant looked neat and modern.

There were a selection of cakes at the entrance but we weren’t in a dessert mood.

Staff were friendly and efficient (though there was only 1 other table full when we sat down) and very polite. The kitchen is an open plan so you can see the chefs preparing your noms.

I ordered an icy cold lemongrass tea.. So refreshing. Convenient too since it came in a plastic cup so you can take it away!

My Lamburghini – lamb patty, cheese, caramelised onions, tomato and lettuce – was just the right size. The patty was delicious and the caramelised onions
.. Mmm. The large portion of salad with a vinaigrette sauce was tasty too – gave a nice kick to the savoury flavour of the burger.

The Bad Boy Beefburger came with a big beef patty and a nice egg on top. My friend finished it off in no time.

Can’t remember the exact prices but both burgers were around SGD22-26.

Would definetely come again next time I’m in Singapore… The lamb chops they were preparing for some other customers looked and smelt delicious.

Royal Steakhouse is located at 10 Jalan Pisang, Singapore and is closed on Tuesdays. Note: It is halal.
Open from 11:30am to 10pm.
